Itinerary and movements

September 9    Sunday
Day 1    Early morning arrival into the International Airport in Cape Town and transfer by road (approximately 1 hour) to the very elegant Le Quartier Francais Auberge in the wine country of Franschhoek.  Overnight there.

September 10    Monday
Day 2    Le Quartier Francais Auberge – wine tasting and site seeing.

September 11    Tuesday
Day 3    Early morning transfer from the Le Quartier Francais Auberge hotel to Bushmans Kloof hotel about a 270 kilometer very scenic drive (approximately (4 hours).

September 12    Wednesday
Day 4    Bushmans Kloof – ancient bushman rock art, indigenous wildlife species unique to this region.  Dramatic scenery, landscapes, rivers.

September 13    Thursday
Day 5    Bushmans Kloof – ancient bushman rock art, indigenous wildlife species unique to this region.  Dramatic scenery, landscapes, rivers.

September 14    Friday
Day 6    Early morning transfer from Bushmans Kloof hotel back to Cape Town (approx. 3.5 hours) where you will be staying at the Cape Grace Hotel on the Waterfront Harbour area of Cape Town with stunning views of Table mountain.

September 15    Saturday
Day 7    Cape Grace Hotel – activities to be arranged at a later date.  Activites include visiting Table mountain (weather permitting) a scenic drive to Cape Point, penquin colonies and many other famous sites.

September 16    Sunday
Day 8    Cape Grace Hotel – activities to be arranged at a later date.

September 17    Monday
Day 9    Morning departure from Cape Grace Hotel to Platform 23 at the Cape Town Train station (about 5 minutes).  Climb aboard the Rovos Rail train which will depart at 11 am and proceed inland to Worcester.  At 18:00 you will arrive at he Matjiesfontein and guests can climb off and visit this quaint, historical village.  19:00 departure and then dinner will be served.

September 18    Tuesday
Day 10    At 14:30 you will arrive in Kimberley and take the electric tram from the City center for a tour of the Big Hole and museum.  Overnight on the train again.  Dinner as usual.

September 19    Wednesday
Day 11    You will arrive at the Capital Park Station in Pretoria at 11:55 am and you will be met by a driver from the 131 Herbert Baker Boutique Hotel.   131 Herbert Baker is about 10 minutes from the train station and it is in the heart of Pretoria and what a perfect time to be there because all the Jacarandas will be in bloom.

September 20    Thursday
Day 12    Early morning transfer via road to the Johannesburg International Airport (approx. 55 minutes).  There you will clear customs and board your International flight (approx. 1 hour) from Johannesburg to the Victoria Falls International Airport in Zimbabwe.  Transfer via private air charter to the Mana Pools National Park (approx. 2 hours) and land on the Dandawa airstrip where you will be met by a driver and then a 20 minutes scenic drive to Kanga Bush Camp in the heart of the Park.

September 21    Friday
Day 13    Kanga Bush Camp – Walking, game viewing and possible canoeing.

September 22    Saturday
Day 14    Kanga Bush Camp – Walking, game viewing and possible canoeing.

September 23    Sunday
Day 15    Early morning transfer via private air charter from Dandawa airstrip back to the Victoria Falls Airport and then a quick road transfer to the Historical Victoria Falls Hotel.

September 24    Monday
Day 16    Victoria Falls Hotel  – many activities to be planned by Ian later.  Some of the activities are walking with the elephants, bungi jumping, white water rafting, sunset cruises on the river and the flight of Angels over the falls.

September 25    Tuesday
Day 17    Early morning transfer back to the airport to connect with the International flight back to Johannesburg.  Overnight again at 131 Herbert Baker (optional) or straight back to USA.
